18+ Axe Sales

Since amendments that took effect on 20 December 2024, the Weapons Act 1999 (WA) creates a category of “edged weapon” that explicitly includes axes and axe heads (s.3A). Carrying or possessing an edged weapon without a lawful excuse is an offence carrying a maximum penalty of 3 years’ imprisonment and a $36,000 fine. Selling or supplying an edged weapon to a person under 18 carries the same maximum penalty (s.6B).

Under Western Australian law, wanting an edged weapon for self-defence is specifically not accepted as a lawful excuse. We sell decorative display axes as collector pieces, on the basis that they will be displayed and stored securely, not carried.

Because supplying an edged weapon to a minor is itself an offence, we verify age before dispatch, not simply at checkout. We ask for your date of birth before you can view or buy from the axe collection, and you must confirm it again at checkout. We may decline or cancel an order where age or eligibility cannot be confirmed.

This policy is based on Western Australian law. We have not confirmed the legal position for axe sales or delivery in other Australian states or territories, and we do not make any claim either way about delivering axes outside WA.

Decorative axes are collector pieces, not tools. Use a wall mount rated for the weight of the piece, keep the display out of reach of children, and store the piece securely if it leaves the wall.

Axe-shaped pendants and similar jewellery are not decorative display axes and are not part of this restricted category or its verification process.
